The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools is ideal for those who

• are brand new to the profession but want to become a teaching assistant
• already working in a learning support position in schools and wish to further develop skills and knowledge and / or obtain a formal qualification

The course is 100% online. Students work through 5 high quality e-learning packages on our LearnHub that help provide the required knowledge.  The Units covered are:

• Unit 1 : Child and young person development
• Unit 2: Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
• Unit 3: Communication and professional relationship with children, young people and adults
• Unit 4: Equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people
• Unit 5: Schools and organisations

Our online modules are packed with information about the profession, industry requirements, legislations, techniques and more but most importantly provide numerous exercises. They are designed so that you are completely ready to successfully complete your assignments, and for a successful career.

The course is 100% online. Students work through 5 high quality e-learning packages on our LearnHub that help provide the required knowledge, complete the accompanying workbooks and then take part in a number of professional discussions to prove their knowledge.

There is no requirement to write long essays. There are two types of assessment:

• Knowledge-based assessment – remote professional discussion at the end of the course. This is with one of our experienced assessors in the form of a conversation where they will check your knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.
• Practical skills assessment – portfolio of evidence signed by a workplace supervisor (students will need to have a placement in a school or educational setting in which to gather evidence of skills and learning). This may mean that before you start this course, you need to be in a position where you are already working with children

Our qualification can be achieved quickly and smoothly from the comfort of your own home and your existing work environment. The qualification has been created by a team that has over 10 years of experience delivering online qualifications and is strictly regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) that regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England.

The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools is is fully accredited and nationally recognised by Ofqual – the UK government regulator of qualifications. This means that the qualification is accepted by schools and other educational institutes UK wide.

Although there is no international accreditation standard, usually UK qualifications are held in high esteem around the world.

These assessments take up to 3 hours, plus additional time to secure your workplace evidence.

For successful completion, students will be expected to have studied this subject for approximately 300 hours. It usually takes between 4 weeks – 6 months for students to achieve the qualification.
